How Long Does a Korean Lash Lift Last? (And How to Make It Last)

If you're thinking about a lash lift, the first question is usually: how long will it last? The short answer is usually 6–8 weeks. Here's what that depends on, and how to look after your lashes so you get the most from every lift.

What a Korean lash lift actually does

A Korean lash lift lifts and curls your own lashes from the root. There are no extensions and no glue on your lashes. At Sakoura, every lift includes InLei Lash Filler, which helps lashes look fuller and more defined. The result is a soft, natural curl that opens up the eye, with no daily curling or upkeep.

Why it lasts 6–8 weeks

Your lashes grow and shed in a natural cycle. A lift doesn't wear off as such. Instead, new lashes grow through and lifted lashes gradually shed. Over 6–8 weeks the curl softens as that happens. Everyone's growth cycle is different, so some clients find theirs lasts a little longer or shorter.

The first 24–48 hours matter most

The lift is still setting for the first day, so aftercare makes a real difference:

• Keep lashes completely dry for 24 hours: no water, steam, saunas, swimming or sweaty workouts.

• Avoid mascara, serums, oils, creams and make-up wipes on your lashes for 24 hours.

• Skip waterproof mascara for 48 hours.

• Try not to rub your eyes or sleep face-down for 48 hours.

• Don't use a lash curler.

• Each morning, brush your lashes upwards with a clean spoolie.

Lash lift or lash lift and tint?

A lift alone gives curl. Adding a tint darkens your lashes from root to tip, so they look defined even without mascara. If your lashes are fair or you want a fresh-faced, no-make-up look, the lift and tint is usually the better choice.

When to book your next one

Leave at least 6 weeks between lifts, so your lashes have time to grow through. Most clients rebook every 6–8 weeks.

Before your first lift

You'll need a patch test at least 48 hours before your first lash lift. It's a quick visit, and you can book it at checkout on Fresha. Lash lifts aren't suitable for everyone, for example if you have an eye infection or use glaucoma medication, so we'll always go through your health questions first.

Your questions, answered

Does a lash lift damage your natural lashes?

With professional products, a patch test and the right aftercare, a lift works with your own lashes. Leaving at least 6 weeks between lifts gives them time to grow through.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes, after 24 hours. Avoid waterproof mascara for the first 48 hours.

Is a lash lift better than extensions?

They're different. A lift enhances your own lashes with no infills, while extensions add length and need regular maintenance.
